So without further ado, here's what happened this week: First up, Funcom announced that it will no longer be patching the game twice a week. In an announcement on the official forums, Community Manager Tarib stated that they are doing this to better test the patches, improve the content of the patch notes, and avoid the extended downtime. Link: Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures patching schedule changed Speaking of patches, this week we all expected to have only six hours of downtime with the July 2 patch. Too bad that this wasn't to be. The developers forgot to reexport one of the tables which contained information on certain gemmed and slotted items. They were forced to shut down the servers for around four hours in order to re-upload everything the next day.Link: Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures July 2 patch notes Link: Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - July 3 patch update On a happier note, Funcom and Eidos announced that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has already gathered 700,000 subscribers in North America. Considering the game has only been out for around a month and half, those are some pretty good numbers. In addition, this also makes the game the second most subscribed game in the aforementioned region.Link: Age of Conan dominates retail charts, surpasses 700,000 mark The last topic we're going to cover in this issue of the AoC Weekend Warriors is a response from one of the developers regarding the attack speed problems female characters have been experiencing in the game. Apparently it has something to do with the animations of the female toons, for more on this, check out the link below: Link: Age of Conan developer addresses the female attack-speed issue Under the loincloth: the rise of the Age of Conan Blog! Yes, boys and girls, it's official. The Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures blog is now up and running! Aside from the regular patch notes and news about the game, you can also expect more community-oriented posts. By community oriented posts, we mean we're going to be in the game, talking and playing with you guys and posting stuff about that. We're also going to be covering the exploits of the official QJ.NET Age of Conan guild, the Ravens of Memory. Speaking of community oriented posts, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you guys what you want to see on the blog, Do you want to see more videos of interesting things in Hyboria or maybe read more articles about boobies? Do you guys want leveling guides or class FAQs? Why don't you post your input below and we'll see what we can do to make that happen. |
