Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Weekend Warrior - Image 1

Welcome to the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Weekend Warrior. You were probably here for the last issue, so don't be a stranger, sit and warm yourself by the fire. It's been a very busy and exciting week in the game with the introduction of a new patch as well as some interesting revelations from Erling Ellingsen, the product manager of the game.

So come now, let us now take a look at what happened this week and see how it affects us gamers

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - Image 1The guys at Funcom took the roundabout route in delivering us this week's patch. They revealed the preliminary patch notes on the test server which detailed quite a number of changes that excited the community.

However, on the supposed release date of the patch the developers announced that they haven't fully tested the patch and that they may have to delay its launch. They then proceeded to release the patch the next day. Well, at least it was worth the wait.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - Image 1Finally, we heard a little bit more from Erling Ellingsen, the product manager of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures regarding what we can expect in the future.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2008, he spoke about the new PvP Fugitive system as well as the new raid dungeons and areas such as Ymir's Pass, Thunder Falls, as well as House of Crom. However, the biggest news he revealed was a new guild alliance feature and legendary battlekeeps.

Under the loincloth: More content? Yes, but please make it good.

Over the past two weeks, we've been hearing Erling Ellingsen speak about adding new content to Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. While I am excited about getting my grubby little mitts on these updates, I can't shake this nagging feeling that I might be disappointed by what we'll be getting.

While it's true that I've seen a substantial improvement in the game since it's launch, this is going to be the first time that this company will be adding content of this scale and magnitude to the game. While this is a challenge that I hope Funcom will be able to meet and overcome, I wouldn't be surprised if they encounter more than their share of troubles when implementing it.

Oh well, we'll just have to see won't we?
