Age of Conan subscriptions fall below 100,000

After having its subscriber base shoot up to as much as 700,000 a few months after release, the popular massively multiplayer online RPG Age of Conan isn't as massively multiplayer anymore. According to an estimate by E24, Age of Conan has no more than 100,000 subscribers left. More info inside.

Conservative Christian Investment Firm flags gay content in games

A conservative Christian Investment firm, The Timothy Plan, puts out a warning for parents on getting some games for their kids for the holidays. For that, they put out a list of the 30 "most offensive" video games out there today. The list includes your usual suspects, but The Timothy Plan flags games that ring the gay-dar, even those little negligible things like Niko Bellic turning down gay ads in online dating.

Blizzard: WoW for PS3, 360 is a 'square peg, round hole thing'

Blizzard's J. Allen Brack and Tom Chilton are reiterating that World of Warcraft will not be heading for consoles. As if echoing Hideo Kojima's words yesterday about a 360 port of MGS4 being impossible, Brack and Chilton say that WoW was just basically not intended for the PS3 nor 360 to begin with. In Chilton's words, "it's a square peg round hole thing."

This year's Games Convention at Leipzig was a sure fire success. And though some of you might not think that the same could be said about E3, GC 2009 has already been scheduled. Via press release, we find out that this year's event has set records above and beyond what GC 2007 had, and reception from the masses has definitely shown a good sign that the video games industry is booming more than it used to.

Gotta love a media blitz! Today via press release, Funcom's let out a whole big batch (and by big, I mean "a huge number of" and "hugely insane resolutions of") screenshots, screenshots, and more screenshots for Age of Conan. We get to see the expansion teaser art too, as well as comparisons of Age of Conan on DirectX10 vs DirectX9. Plus a sneak peak at the free content that's coming within the next few months! Survey: Parents more concerned with kids' exposure to videogames than alcohol, porn, and violence

A recent survey from What They Play, a parental advisory website, revealed that parents seem to be more worried about their children's exposure to videogames than alcohol, pornography, or violence. We're getting a pretty short update this week as the developers from Funcom felt that most of the features on the test live server needed further testing before being placed on the live servers.
